Send Your WiFi E-mails Through SendGrid
Šis saturs vēl nav pieejams jūsu valodā.
Summary Send your hotspot’s guest e-mails — the status-page link and the “how to pay” instructions — from your own SendGrid account. SendGrid is added as an e-mail Channel and delivers over its HTTP API (great for higher volumes). You need a verified sender and an API key with Mail Send permission.
What data MKController asks for
Section titled “What data MKController asks for”| Field in MKController | What it is | Example |
|---|---|---|
| The from-address, verified in SendGrid | noreply@yourbrand.com | |
| Sender name | The name guests see as the sender | YourBrand Wi-Fi |
| Api Key | A SendGrid API key with Mail Send scope | SG.xxxx… |
Step 1: Verify a sender in SendGrid
Section titled “Step 1: Verify a sender in SendGrid”SendGrid only sends from an address (or domain) you’ve proven you own.
- Sign in at app.sendgrid.com.
- Open Settings → Sender Authentication.
- Either Verify a Single Sender (quickest — confirm one from-address by e-mail) or Authenticate Your Domain (best deliverability — add the DNS records SendGrid gives you).
Step 2: Create an API key
Section titled “Step 2: Create an API key”- Open Settings → API Keys → Create API Key.
- Name it (e.g.
MKController) and choose Restricted Access with Mail Send turned on (or Full Access). - Click Create and copy the key (it starts with
SG.) — it is shown only once.
Step 3: Add the SendGrid channel in MKController
Section titled “Step 3: Add the SendGrid channel in MKController”- Open Integrations → Channels.
- Click Add channel → choose E-mail → Continue.
- Choose the SendGrid provider → Continue.
- Fill in E-mail (the verified sender), Sender name and Api Key (use the 👁 to reveal it).
- Click Continue.
Step 4: Send a test and confirm
Section titled “Step 4: Send a test and confirm”- Enter a recipient e-mail → Send test. MKController sends a real message through your SendGrid account.
- Check that inbox, then:
- I got the test — saves the channel as verified.
- Just save — saves it without confirming the test (pending).
Step 5: Turn the channel on for a voucher
Section titled “Step 5: Turn the channel on for a voucher”- Open the voucher → Integrations tab.
- In the Channels panel, switch on the SendGrid channel.
- That voucher’s guest e-mails are now sent through SendGrid. Multiple active channels each get a copy.
No active channel = no e-mail. A voucher only sends while at least one channel is active. The E-mail da MKController system channel is on by default.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”- HTTP 401 / “unauthorized”. The API key is wrong or was revoked — create a new one and reconnect. Make sure it has Mail Send permission.
- HTTP 403 / “from address does not match a verified Sender Identity”. The E-mail you entered isn’t verified in SendGrid — verify that exact address (or authenticate its domain).
- Test arrives in spam. Prefer domain authentication over single-sender verification for better deliverability.
- Rotate a key? Create a new API key in SendGrid (revoking the old one), then click Reconnect on the SendGrid channel and paste the new value.
