Introduction
Telegram is one of the most popular messaging apps in the world, so it is natural that we at MKController offer the integration for sending device alert messages directly through this amazing messaging app.
With this feature enabled, you will be able to receive alert messages 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, right on your cell phone, facilitating the monitoring and follow-up of the devices adopted in MKController.
In this manual, we will use as an example the configuration of offline device alerts, sent directly by Telegram. But you can replicate this manual for other types of alerts.
Preparing the Telegram
1. To configure the MKController bot, we will need your Telegram ID information – which will be used later on the platform. To do so, you will need to access your Telegram account. In this example, we use the messaging application’s web platform (https://web.telegram.org/), but you can also use the application on your mobile phone.
2. In the search field type @userinfobot (1st indication). Here you must choose which will pass the ID information, in this example we will use the second option (2nd indication), then click on the “Start” button (3rd indication), according to the figure below.
3. The Telegram userinfobot will show your user information, the “Id” will be shown with a sequence of numbers, in the field shown in the figure.
Into you account
1. Now you need to be duly logged at your MKController account – just click here to make your login. If you don’t have an account yet, go to mkcontroller.com and create a free account to enjoy our 14 days trial. Do not forget to confirm your email.
MKController Settings
1. After duly copying the Telegram user Id number, as shown in step 3 of Preparing the Telegram, already in your MKController account go to “Sites” and then click on the Settings option, as shown in the figure below.
2. In the “Alerts” menu, we will create our alert system. As we mentioned before, for this example we will create the alert for when the device is offline, just click on a pencil symbol (Edit Alert), as indicated in the figure below.
3. For this example, in the “Send an alert every” field, we will configure it for 5 (five) minutes and click on the “Save” button, as shown in the figure on the down. You can choose any range of time you think is best suited, as well customize everything as you see fit.
4. In the “User” option, click on the pencil symbol (Edit User), as shown in the figure below.
5. Now is the time to link your MKController account to your Telegram one. In the “Telegram” field, inform that Telegram ID we get in step 3 of Preparing the Telegram, then just click on “Save” and in the popup at the top, click on the “OK” button, as shown in the figure below.
6. Back to Telegram, in the search field (1st reference) look for “@mkcontroller_bot”, the Mkcontrollers bot (2nd reference), click on the search result and then on the “Start” button (3rd reference), as shown in the figure below.
7. After a few moments, the MKControllers Bot will send the notifications configured on the platform to your Telegram. There you go! You are tuned 24/7!.
